This recipe is one that my Mother used to fix all the time. It has become one of my most requested desserts at church and family gatherings.
Crust Ingredients:
2 cups graham crackers (crushed)
1/2 cup butter (melted)
Filling Ingredients:
16 oz. cream cheese (room temperature) 1 cup chilled Milnot
1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg lemon Jello plus 1 cup hot water Pinch of salt
Optional: graham crackers to sprinkle on top of cake for garnish
Make crust and place into refrigerator to set.
Beat cream cheese and sugar together until smooth.
Dissolve Jello in hot water. Slowly add to cream cheese mixture while beating with a hand mixer.
Beat Milnot in a separate bowl on high until peaks form. Add vanilla and salt; blend.
Fold Milnot into cream cheese mixture. Pour over crust.
Chill for at least one hour.
